Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, known as BJJ, is a martial art rooted in ground-fighting and submission wrestling. First developed in Brazil by the world-renown Gracie family, BJJ promotes the belief that a weaker individual using proper leverage and technique can successfully defend his or herself from a larger, stronger opponent.
As the ground parallel to standup Thai Boxing, USMMA provides concentrated Jiu-Jitsu classes in which students learn effective grappling and submission wrestling techniques to defend themselves in nearly any situation. This class is open to all levels from novice to advanced. No experience necessary.
Intermediate Brazilian Jiu Jitsu / submission wrestling: This class is for the more advanced practitioner and includes a higher concentration on MMA techniques. Mouthpiece and protective cup required for any and all grappling sessions.
"Just try the free classes, you have nothing to lose. I promise that any fears or apprehensions you had will be gone after the first five minutes of class. You don't need any background in martial arts to come. I had absolutely no training whatsoever in any kind of fighting before I came. So give it a try." - Satisfied Customer Mark Laronga
Whether you are trying to become the next big name in mixed martial arts or a husband and father of two children like me just looking to make a life change and become a better person, United States Mixed Martial Arts is where you need to be…period. The training and experience has already been unlike anything I’ve ever done and I guarantee it will be the same for everyone who decides to just take the first step and walk through the door."
